Our IP Practice Group specialises in assisting our
clients with
- Obtaining effective protection of their IP, whether these
are in the form of patents, trade marks, designs, copyright, trade
secrets or know-how; and
- The commercialization, exploitation and licensing of IP.
Our clients range from young inventors through to
multinational corporations, and for each of these our scope of services
encompasses all aspects of development and commercialisation, from
advising on licensing terms and collaborative research agreements
to technology transfer arrangements, joint ventures and global exploitation
arrangements.
Our lawyers are well-respected members of the field and have been
heavily involved in related publications and are frequently asked
upon to speak on pertinent topics by statutory boards and other
governmental authorities on related matters. In addition, the Practice
Group provides watching services for its clients.
In addition, the Practice Group, together with its
counterpart in Robert Wang Solicitors in Hong Kong, spearheaded the
formation of the international association for trade mark lawyers
known as International Trademark Counsel. This association acts
to continually keep the Practice Group at the cutting edge of international
IP laws and practice to provide our clients consistently with up-to-date
and relevant advice. Where necessary, we rely on the strong relationships
built with associates in many foreign countries to enhance our service
to clients around the world.
Information Technology (IT)
Internet web presence is in this age a vital part
of the strategic plans of most businesses whether for purposes of
marketing or for the performance of actual business functions. Lawyers
in our IT Practice Group regularly advise clients on a variety of
issues relating to information technology, including verification,
validation, enforceability of terms and conditions, electronic product
distribution, support, merchant agreements, privacy, data collection
and usage issues. Business and domain names form a critical part
of the branding strategy of most businesses. The Practice Group
also retains a full range of registration services for business
and domain names, in Singapore or beyond.
