About Linus
Linus graduated with Honours from the University of London, was called to English Bar in 1997 and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1998. He was in charged of his previous firm's Representative Office in Shanghai before joining the firm as a Director in its Corporate Department.
As the deputy head of the Corporate Department, he is involved in a wide variety of corporate and commercial legal matters. These include corporate finance, advisory work and provision of legal opinions on Singapore law to international law firms for syndicated loans in relation to projects financing and ships financing, and for various forms of cross-border loan transactions, in excess of transactional aggregate of USD 5.2 Billion. He has also spoken in international conferences on these topics, including the most recent International Maritime Conference 2010.
In addition, he is also actively involved in various aspects of capital market works including mergers and acquisitions for local and cross-border transactions, as well as reverse takeovers for public listed companies in the local stock exchanges.
With his Chinese experience and working closely with the firm's Chinese department, he travels regularly to China to conduct due diligence exercises on Chinese companies and to provide legal support to Singapore companies operating in China.
Having represented individuals and corporations in civil, criminal and matrimonial cases, he was also involved in appeal cases, including appeals against the State for land acquisition matters. He had also acted as counsels in arbitration proceedings (conducted locally and overseas) for both local and cross-border disputes, in particular for commercial and construction matters.
Being an active volunteer in various grassroots and charitable organizations, he is an executive council member of the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) and the Chairman of its Education and Insurance Committees, as well as a mediator with the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCCI).
As a keen learner of the Chinese metaphysics of Feng Shui and Bazi, he was also involved in the World Feng Shui Congress as a panellist in 2008.
